The Relationships between Mother´s Child Caring Behavior and Child Self Esteem

Abstract
|
|
|
The present explanatory study was conducted for the purpose of understanding the causal
structual. relationship in which mother´s child caring behavior affect child self esteem
The subject was 4th, 5th, 6th grade Children iti 4 elementary schools located in Taejon
city and surveys were used in the analysis
As for the tools used in this study the mother´s child caring behavior scale by Park, Seong-Yeon and Yi, Sook (1990), child self esteem were measured with the self-esteem scale by Coopersmith (1967)
For the data processing, the analyses of variance, correlation were carried out. The result of this study is summarized as follows:
1. The examination of the effect of mother´s child caring behaviors on the child self esteem shows that significant difference are made by positive participation, consisten-cy regulation, total positive child caring behaviors.
2. As for the correlation between mother´s child caring behaviors and child self esteem, a significant correlation is revealed between the positive child caring behavior and child self esteem.
